Congradualations. OK so now your addicted to Mercury dimes. So start a second set and as you acquire better coins put them into set #1 and the ones from set #1 to #2. I started that about 50 or more years ago. Are you leaving those in the slabs? I just have to have all my coins in albums, 2x2's or rolls.
As to my flea market where the guy sells Mercury dimes for $1 and if you buy a lot the price goes down. He is getting a little more intelligent since I tried to explain some of the ones he sold me are worth a real lot of money. So now he tries to sell them for $1.25 but I argue with him and still get them for less. last week, I think it was, I got a bunch for a little over $1 each.
If your in the Chicago area, West of Chicago on Lake Street just west of Manhiem Road, on the South side of the Street is a large sign saying Swaporama Flea Market. That guy is always there on Fridays and usually Saturday. Just inside the main gate, White truck, big guy, looks dirty all the time, name is Bob. Many coins just dumped into bins. He has a large variety of foreign currency and coins also. Most of his customers are into those.
The thing to note if you go there is he doesn't sell by dates or mint marks. I don't think he knows what the D, S, etc stand for and doesn't care.

Geez Carl,

I know we've talked about meeting in person before elsewhere but the Swap O Rama? Is that the one you can see from 294?

If it is I've only driven by a few hundred times.

Coming from the east where would I exit? Maybe around Cicero?

Yeah, we need to meet up and I'LL buy the coffee.

Nope. Wrong flea market. That is known as the Wolves Flea market and is in the Allstate Arena parking lot. Used to be the Rosemont Horizon. Usually on a nice day about 800 to 1200 sellers there. Not sure how to get there from I-294. That flea market is on Mannheim Road, North of I-90 and I-72. You could never find anyone in that place. To big.
The one I was referring to is about 10 miles South of there also just off Mannheim Road which may be I-12.

Congratulations! XF and better. I have a complete set as well - the varieties. My 16-D is also AG03 PCGS. But my other Mercs are not all XF! Nice accomplishment.

Congratulations! That is one series I'm contemplating resuming. I got 2 of the hardest ones out of the way, the 42/41 and the 16d. The 42/41 is raw and would grade Fine, but the real winner was the 16d which I got raw and submitted to PCGS and came back XF40.

I'm filling an intercept Album and it doesn't have slots for varieties other than the 1945 micro s so I only have to spend lots on the key dates.
