It will be an interesting series. I can see the mintage going down as it progresses through the years.

The Mint's product page is now showing the release date and images of the Delaware $1. P & D rolls/bags will be released on 19 Sep.

So the only way to get these would be to buy a roll (or bag)? Sigh.

I guess we buy a roll or bag, keep a few for collecting, then put the rest in circulation.

Though I'm not really enthused about the initial designs of the series I've decided to keep up with it because there's always the chance I'll change my mind half way through and have to scramble to pick up whatever I missed when it was issued.
I'll get an example of the business strikes off ebay, that way I'm not stuck with a lot of extra coins to get rid of, then wait and get the proofs and reverse proofs from the mint

I'm with you there. However, it's very likely that you could pick them up for less than issue price a few years down the road.

I let the coin show dealers buy the rolls/bags and then buy what I need from them.

The mint now has dates for the Innovation dollars, except the Georgia and New Jersey reverse proofs.

Please forgive me if this has already been mentioned, but I looked at the photos of the upcoming Delaware dollar and the obverse has a concentric gear thingy below In God We Trust. Was that on the 2018 coins? I don't remember seeing this before.

This was not on the introductory coin. Per the mint:

Quote:
The design also includes a privy mark of a stylized gear, representing industry and innovation.

The CCAC met on 18 Sep and discussed the proposed designs for the next 4 states (CT, MA, MD & SC) in 2020. You can see the designs on the Mint's website. IMHO the proposed designs are still pretty uninspiring

Anyone listen to the CCAC meeting to see which designs they recommended?

Mass and SC are absolutely atrocious. Connecticut better be a submarine especially number 11. That I would buy every version of but I'm sure the CCAC will mess that up and do something awful like 8.

I wouldn't mind seeing MA #1 on a coin. They should definitely avoid the basketball designs; two basketball themed designs in the year is too many.

Especially when the basketball designs are that bad. 1 isn't bad, though I'm having a hard time deciding if I actually like the design or if it just seems good by comparison to the others. Out of the choices I would pick 1 as well.
