The same way this was setup, can even hide perhaps a different type of reverse. Like a 1964 Silver half dollar and a Franklin half dollar. So when you find some thing odd about a coin, check to see if it was altered or not. How? Weight differences, also look on the rim to see if there is a double line on the rim: Note where the inset was added?

mdpm....I'm still in SHOCK! I have already passed at least 1 more of these in a few rolls I previously went through with that weird seam but the coin was not in collectable Condition! Gotta go back through the 8 rolls, that was crazy finding that!

The first image is showing Machine Doubling. MD is even more common on the larger diameter coins. (most of the time on the bottom devices for the denominations)

When I search halves, I have a game plan: 1. review websites for all DDO / DDR years and write them down. 2. keep all silver (everything before 1970) There are some silver after 1970 so be on the look out. 3. keep all 1987 (NIFC) 4. I weigh all coins and check for rotation. 5. some like to keep the "NO FG" (initials). Some folks keep all of the 2002 to present (NIFC, not issie for circulation) because of low population.

I prefer Loomis to Brinks, you're going to find a plethora of MD coins Quote: Some folks keep all of the 2002 to present (NIFC, not issie for circulation) because of low population. Don't many of them are in horrible shape and you will probably find boxes with hundreds of the newer ones at some point.

LofM....the obverse and reverse are posted that your receding too! The obverse has arrows pointing to the what I though was a "misalignment?" They are above the 3 close ups!
