I got two e-mails...

On Tuesday I received one titled "Get ready—the U.S. Mint's Loyalty Program resets January 1!"

Then on Wednesday I got one saying "Welcome to our Loyalty Program" which I only skimmed thinking it was just a follow-up to the other.

So opened it and of course it says "Congratulations! You've made 3 qualifying purchases and are now eligible for Free Budget Shipping* for the rest of the year as part of the United States Mint Loyalty Program."

Just got the "apology" email:

Dear Valued Customer,

On January 1, we sent you an email regarding the United States Mint Loyalty Program. This email was sent in error and we apologize for any confusion it may have caused.

The qualifications for the Loyalty Program reset at the beginning of each calendar year. As a registered user who has subscribed to our Product & Promotion email updates, you have met the first two requirements for participation in this program. Once your first three orders in this calendar year have shipped, you will again qualify for free shipping for the remainder of the year.

For additional questions or concerns, please see our FAQs or call our Customer Care Center at 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468).

Thank you for being a loyal United States Mint customer.

It's funny that they end the email with "loyal United States Mint customer" when the email is telling you that you don't meet the requirements for the Loyalty program!

That was a quick take back lol. I logon our site got a email popup I got we made an error misstate from the US minted after I got the free shipment sometime this weekend.

So I placed an order on New Year's Eve to take advantage of the free shipping before it reset the following day. Typical budget free shipping fedex smart post. Well not only did fedex deliver ( instead of usps) but received it today, Sunday. Pleasant surprise though I'm sure not something I need get used to.

THAT'S crazy! My ERP took 2 weeks and 1 day for me to get. It went around the Northeast for a few days and then waited at USPS for 2 days before they delivered it. Usually I get the orders in about 5 days from when shipped or a week from when ordered.

It's happened for the 3rd year in a row. Yesterday I received the "you have qualified for our loyalty program" email. Hours later, the oops email.

I know mistakes happen but 3 years in a row?!

I also received both emails and was having dejà vu to last year.

Other than the date, this year's version is also word-for-word identical to the 2020 and 2019 emails.
