A very nice Morgan! MS64 at the very least. When cherrypicking Morgan varieties consider the "Interest" factor as well as the Rarity.

the missing luster across the cheek might keep it to MS64. its borderline 65. typical strike for an 85(P). not worth slabbing imo as it would need to come back at 66 to really be worth it and its nowhere close to that. even at MS65 you would be chewing up a good portion of the actual value unless you can get it graded fairly cheap. I know ANACS was doing a 10 fer deal for I think $10 each but after shipping both ways it comes out to be $20

Thanks Panzaldi. I may send it into NGC because it's fairly cheap, but they aren't taking submissions by post at the moment. It cost me £68 so I don't mind spending a little more to give it a nice coffin for life and to see what they grade it at.

I feel a bit robbed at MS63. No mention of the VAM either, I presumed they would have picked up on that or should I have told them to put it in the description?

I could be wrong but think you have to ask for attribution.

You have to request NGC to attribute a VAM for a $15 fee. NGC does not attribute all VAMS. The 1885 9A is not on their list.

Not sure why you feel robbed or jobbed at 63 . Pretty typical for the grade .
Too busy and too many marks . This date mint comes much much nicer
including grades up to 66 .
