Ok, I will head to a coin shop today to try and get a holder for it. But any like estimates on prices? On ebay I found a few similar dollars ranging around $2000. Does that sound right? I got the dollar out and its still looks like the day I peeled it out of the fed wrapped dollar shipment! :) I was thinking it couldnt be more than 100 bucks but any ideas would be awsome since I have no clue. I will upload a pic as probably tomorrow for you guys.... :)

I think the value will be somewhere between $100-$200.

Far from an expert, but I would guess between $500 - $1000. There was a $1 solid 5's that recently closed on ebay for $700. solid 7's are probably more collectable than solid 5's so you might get more.

I could see the original strap of 100 selling for $2500-4000. The individual bill I don't think would go as high as $2000. I've been surprised before though.

Work up a high profile title for the auction, set it no reserve, start the bidding at .99c, and do at least a 7 day auction... and let it go. With that sort of incentive, it could possibly bring a grand.
Great find.

Thanks! I did put the bill in a hard plastic bill case. Now I was thinking.... should I bother to get it Pcgs rated? I know its uncirculated from where I got it and expect it will have the highest possible rating. Do you think it would be worth it, maybe bring a higher selling price? I think it costs about 10-15 dollars for a single bill if I go through a coin dealer friend I have. I am taking pictures of the bill tomorrow as I found I left my digital cam charger at my parents house from the last time I was there lol. I will upload, after I take the pics for you viewing pleasure....

This is the first and maybe only time you will see this in writing from me: I believe that you should get it graded. Your investment of 15-20 dollars will likely be repaid with a stronger sale, and your bill will be protected. Looking forward to pictures/scans.

I don't know what to say but "Wow". Had you not had a keen eye, it would have met a far worse fate. It makes me wonder how often these things go out into circulation and are worn away to nothing.
Congrats!

Now that ive been learning about the value of certain serial numbers I dont want to sell it anymore... but I really need the dough. I keep telling myself that with my new money I might come across another cool specimen but we shall see. I will post up my ebay link when I get it up there, there will be more pics in it too...

erm.... I *think* you should offer shipping to Asia, particularly Hong Kong. People there are really into notes with auspicious numbers, and the number 7 isn't too shabby, and the fact that it's an American $1 really adds the kicker. Story here: when I was just back there, I got an old green HSBC $10 from exchange with the number DZ888828. I was laughing with the teller that I got it, and the person behind me offered $200 (HKD) for it. Also if you take a look at most of the ebay auctions with good numbers, they all originate from Asian countries.
