The obverse is the ODV-038. The bow tie tells the tale therefore making the reverse a normal reverse. It is not a 1992 cent. 1992 had the ODV-037 and it was the only year that obverse design was used.

I'm going to have to disagree here. After looking at an image of the 1992 D cent, and comparing the 2, I believe this is the real deal.

Just my opinion, but I think you have a 1992 D Close AM.

I would send it in for slabbing.

SilverCents. All you have to do is a little research. Go to variety vista and look at the obverse design varieties. Look at the bow tie and then you will agree with me. You cannot go by what you think you see.

Sorry Jim didn't see your comment above mine till now. What you says makes sense, and it changes my perspective.

The bowties don't match, so yes, this doesn't seem to be a 1992 cent sadly.

Here is a side by side of various features of the differences between the 1992 and 1993 obverse designs differences:

I don't know about you but the ends of the 9s look correct for 1992. They're blunt, not rounded, unless its a result of the Grease Fill.

At first I saw a 4 then I inverted the colors, then tried to use more contrast... in GIMP.

I do believe it is a 2 Sorry for the crappy outline.

Well the Jaw is not a 1992. It is a post 1993 cent. Look for the obvious, not grasping for straws when drowning in a river.

Going through my 1992 and 1992 D LMCs the jaw looks more like a 1992 than a post 1993. I know Coop is much more knowledgeable than me but I would not chuck it.

Great words of wisdom! I'll have to remember this one! Thanks, coop!
