I'd say proof as well. First set of pics look like a straight grade. Second set look like it's been polished. If it straight grades, I can't see this getting higher than PR60.

Doesn't look authentic to me. Maybe polished like other have indicated.

Comparing the rim and details to this coin https://www.PCGS.com/coinfacts/coin...0c-cam/86419, I think this one is a mis-handled Proof. If it's fake, it is a real good one.
Looks like it has been dipped at least once, maybe more.

I think polished at some point. Even a proof that old isn't going to stay that shinny.

It looks like it was covered with something (maybe lacquer?) and then polished off. Take a look at the reverse between 6-10 and looks like something on it. The letters in that area look smooth (the way it should) but has something on it, the rest of the denomination looks like polishing and would make a rough surface on the letters, just like the surface on the obverse on Liberty's skin surface. Not original surfaces but is a real Seated half dollar.

First,

How many reeds are on the edge? It should have 145, 152, or 153.

That's what I thought when I saw it... Looks like it had a coat of lacquer.

Proof details, some type of environmental damage. Have you tried an acetone soak?

Looks like it went the way most of us suspected, unfortunately. Thanks for the update!
