I'll say VF-35 also. It is too worn to get all the way up to EF-40 IMO.

Nothing wrong with being a VAM enthusiast.

I started to look over mine because of some of your posts.

It's an incredibly weak strike, but doesn't have much wear. EF-45 or better. Might sneak into an AU-50 holder.

@fenton - how about $10 10-1 against this making AU-50?

With the in-hand photos, I still see the obverse as VF-35. I now see the reverse on the VF-30/VF-35 bubble. I don't see anything that would detail or eye appeal drop-grade at VF, although the scratches east of the cap and on the throat could be eye appeal issues on a higher grade coin. I now have to net it as probable VF-35, rather than my original rock solid VF-35.

Still a darned nice example of a brutal VAM. You did well, my friend. That's a VAM I've never landed.

yep she is PCGS VF-35 she still has a little luster though not much and has some breast feathers though not well defined , the holder is very rough in that spot .

to me she is a classic example of a VF-35

I think you got a good deal on that one. I think the coin is at least EF and the grader kind of missed the fact that most of the lack of detail is strike weakness.

yes my note above the word changed , the holder is rough around the breast feathers and is hiding some detail . I think I got a great deal regardless as this VAM is incredibly tough in any grade and it was a lot cheaper than it would of cost a few years back.
