I'm at AU58 but PCGS probably went 55, agree with the others. I love this coin btw, it's beautiful!

Not sure where I land on the grade, but the AU58 vs. AU55 seems to be a fair assessment. That being said, I just came to say how beautiful this one is. Lovely tone!

Beautiful toning! Some strike weakness, I'd also say AU-58.

AU-58, definitely a high quality early half. What fabulous toning on this piece! One doesn't often see this sort of dramatic toning for the Capped Bust Half series. Very nice!

Thank you for your opinions. I paid AU(55) money for this, knowing that I was paying for the tone, luster, and genuine aesthetic appeal. I am pleasantly surprised--everyone here seems to grade this at least at AU(55), some substantially higher. I am in no hurry to take any action with this coin, but I am curious what you all would suggest if I were to decide to in the future. Should I A) Eventually, way down the road, resubmit it to PCGS? B) Submit it to NGC C) Keep it as is and submit it for CAC approval? Again, I won't do anything immediately--I am just curious what you may suggest.

Agreed, unless they're seeing something in hand that we're not, that is low. If you submitted for a resub, in the current slab, I don't foresee PCGS going any higher than AU-55. Same goes for a crossover to NGC, if it does successfully cross, I don't see it higher than 55. Not enough of a price jump to warrant a resub IMO. If the time comes to sell, like you, I feel like others would pay a premium on this one. Now on the other hand, if you were to crack it out and submit it , I personally feel it's an easy 55 shot at 58. Only if it hits the 58 would it be worth it with what you have in it. I would go PCGS, but like someone else said, seems they have been tough on this series lately. Not a CAC kind of guy myself so I won't speak to that.

PCGS has been really rough lately and from standpoint undergrading coins. on this one the only way you get to 53 is if they are really whacking it for strike.
I would not resub the coin and really dont deal with CAC. NGC might give it a 55 but the difference in price doesn't really make it worth doing unless they would put a 58 on it which probably wouldnt happen
its still a beautiful coin and imo worth 55 money

All I'm gonna say is that is an amazing coin. I've been trying to find one with that degree of color on a nice MS-62/3 for a while and no dice.
