I forgot to mention diameter. I measure 32 mm. Looks the same as the 1985 when stacked.

Major errors like this should be in a PCGS slab to get max value, but this error speaks for itself any slab will do if you are going to sell it. I have been waiting for many weeks for delivery of some Heritage auction items that normally delivered in normal times 10 days after auction, I hope the delays are only due to covid. Check I Collector for last sold one of these coin, ICCS use to grade these coin phone them out,

I think the copper is just lighting by the way it only seems to reflect off the edge of the raised designs.

Very nice find indeed. Makes one wonder how they operate at the mint though, just a big old pile of dies laying around that they pick from.

Great find... It will be well worth your while. Do yourself a favor and send it to be graded. 8 years ago, mine went to ICCS and graded MS60. yours is better than mine was. CCCS will also grade it. Yours looks like it should be about MS64... big $$ mine sold for 8K in a private transaction to a BC collector who already had several of them. a few months later there was one in an auction in Australia for 12K US here is the image of mine  Roger, at the time you sent me this question: why did you not sell it to me? Very hard to tell with the lighting on your coin... 1985 is a notoriously bad year for "baggy" coins.

Your coin , the way it looks, and compared to the one I had, will grade MS.. at least 62 IMO.
Mine was MS60... compare these yourself.

I mailed the coin to PCGS nearly 3 months ago today along with a few others. I finally got the notification for the grade today. The coin is authentic and comes with a grade of MS-62. Not too bad. I was expecting 60 and hoping for 62 so I'm content with that.  |

Congrats!! You can now "show" your coin without it having to leave a safe place, and selling it in an auction in the future will be easy in a PCGS holder.
