This guy should call his ex-employer and tell them his lawyer strongly advises that they come over and pick up the pennies. Oh, and bring a check with you as well!

I deal with a lot of government tax offices and most States, Counties and municipalities have passed laws or ordinances that specifically forbid making payment in coinage after several well publicized incidents of people trying to pay their annual real property taxes or fines in pennies.
