I recommend you remove it from the 2x2 and take/post new pics. Then put it in a new Air-Tite. Looks cool and must have a decent value. John1

Thanks posting this. If you permit me I will take the photo for my database. It is a very nice end of roll planchet, very end. The crystallin molecular structure could be see. Also interesting is the split go on both sides with same angle of detaching. On quarters maybe it is the third to see with this kind of split. I will put on third degree of split because is combine with annealing process or the similar for the year (I do not have exact process used in that time). Nice coin.

This is a very cool looking error, without that bit of explanation I would have thought tin snips were the culprit as well. Reminds me of 1700s and earlier coinage where the flan splits

Great error coin. It seems like the upturning machine even put a slight upturn at the obverse edge of the coin. Too many things looking right for this coin.
