I don't own the coin. It is on hibid. The other image is of the reverse that is usual.

Looks like it took a hit from the south moving up north creating a 'wave' of metal piling up

Hard to say with the given pictures. This is probably the most faked Lincoln. A close-up of the MM would be needed.

Two things about it bother me. The mintmark seem unusually bold compared to the rest of the details and the amount of wear. Which leads to the second concern. It is rather unusual to see 1931 S cents that grade less than XF. This coin was known to be a low mintage from the very start (like with the 50 D nickels) and most of the mintage was snapped up and hoarded in Unc or AU condition.

The low grade thing is part of what set of my alarm. Also the blurry pics could have been hiding something.
