you've inspired me. I'm going to have to do similar. oddly enough, someone gave me a post-christmas gift (she was unloading xmas leftovers), a new wallet. I never use wallets or anything similar, but you just gave me a reason to utilize my new wallet. thanks for the idea.

Thanks. My pleasure. Since I have it on me most of the time, I used to take it out more, it always surprises me how many people really have no idea what it is. They say it is cool and most respond its heavier then they thought. They are usually shocked it's made by the U.S. government. It makes me want to buy a monster box and hand them out with a little explanation. Silver eagle Santa Claus.

I forgot to mention that I also let it soak in acetone for a few minutes and a quick wipe with a q tip. Probably twice in the past few years. Good luck.

It's really lovely, I have a 2014 sitting right in front of me in an airtight, I may just have to liberate her. I feel like it would get a lot more beat up rolling around in a purse. You've inspired me to find a suitable pouch for her.
Beautiful coin and story

If your wallet is in your back pocket, it gets subjected to a sulphur "bath" from time to time. That and more humidity than you might think.

Ha. I was never a back pocket guy. Just not comfortable and always somewhat paranoid of pick pockets. Always front right pocket. Little OCD too. Thanks for looking.

i opted for pocket piece instead of wallet piece. I don't care for carrying a wallet, so the ASE goes into my pocket each night before I go out.

Are the selling premiums a bit less for ex pocket or wallet pieces?

Probably depends on the coin or token. A bullion ASE may receive a higher premium if it looks cool, but it sure gets knocked around and beat up. I guess the story can help raise the premium too. Some people are pretty superstitious. I have really been blessed in my life, so I could see someone paying more for a good luck charm with a pretty good track record.

Front pocket, back pocket, still gets the occasional (smelly) sulfur bath.

My wife said "bath? More like swimming pool for you." She knows me well.

Imagine this was the 08-W reverse 07 casually chilling in a wallet for years.

Funny you mentioned that. About a year in, I checked it. Not sure where I read it, but remember saying "imagine that's been sitting in my wallet this whole time."
