My shoulder is original equipment and I still can't scratch my back.

I used to be able to clasps my hands together behind my back (right arm over my shoulder and left from below behind my back)

Dearborn, did they say you'd be able to get back on the mound by opening day?

I think so, Second week of PT yesterday and they have me on arm and shoulder strengthening exercises.

I've got one of those cheap wooden back scratcher though

for now, I'm borrowing my shower back brush...

Dearborn, According to how the VA looks at it; if you're in remission, you don't have a problem.
Stay healthy and remember the curative qualities of beer.

Check and CHECK!! (The VA has me rated at 90% disabled currently - with no chance of it going down) That is the good and bad of it..

Glad to hear you are on the mend! Did you try the ball cannon with the pups?

thanks! Ball cannon? nope not yet, but then my yard is not that big and I think the neighbors would tire of retrieving the balls instead of my dogs.
Besides I think they know my 'good' arm is not working well - When I toss a ball with my wrong arm, it won't go far cause well my wrong arm just can't throw a ball. So when I do, the dogs will pick up the ball that landed nearby get it, then take off across the yard then return for another toss.

Ball cannon?
Yeah, had mentioned it earlier in your thread. Maybe take them to the park and use it, if you have curmudgeon neighbors. I've heard the PT is the toughest part of the whole process, hope you get most of your range of motion back.

To the dog park is a good idea, IF I want all the dogs chasing the balls

So far, my PT is not too bad, Working on getting my strength back. The pain is finally receding and I can sleep at night again.

Good luck. I took a tumble 3 weeks ago and have had my hand in a cast and leg in a leg brace (broken knee cap).

Well, I shoulda just kept my big mouth shut because in May, I fractured my shoulder. My original equipment shoulder is now upgraded with a plate and several screws. I'm probably back to 90% or so but I feel your pain now Dearborn!

I too am glad that you're on the mend. Shoulders are rough! A friend of mine went through 18 months of PT for her shoulder replacement. Ofcourse, she had necropsy to deal with too.

Keep up the good work dearborn! I'm cheering you on also!
