Dearborn that is a surgery in it self.Wow. I hear the recovery time and rehab therapy is gruesome. AAhhhhh I never want that done. I have already had my left knee joint replaced and had my right hip joint replaced. Thank God I had a excellent Doctor, who did a great job. My recovery was excellent.Good luck Dearborn and hope therapy goes well for you.As long as you can pick up coins you will be doing great.

Thanks, I'm in PT now, once a week - However, I guess I surprised my PT therapist by having most of my strength and range of motion back (even before I started PT) Only thing I cannot do at this point is scratch my darn back - which it driving me CRAZY!

Hang in there. I have 5 more weeks of physical therapy. Things will get easier. As for scratching your back Sorry to say that is the last muscle group to recover.

My shoulder is original equipment and I still can't scratch my back. I've got one of those cheap wooden back scratcher though - think my kid won it at a carnival if I remember correctly. Dearborn, did they say you'd be able to get back on the mound by opening day?

Dearborn, According to how the VA looks at it; if you're in remission, you don't have a problem. Stay healthy and remember the curative qualities of beer.

Quote: My shoulder is original equipment and I still can't scratch my back. I used to be able to clasps my hands together behind my back (right arm over my shoulder and left from below behind my back) Quote: Dearborn, did they say you'd be able to get back on the mound by opening day? I think so, Second week of PT yesterday and they have me on arm and shoulder strengthening exercises. Glad to hear you are on the mend! Did you try the ball cannon with the pups?

Quote: Glad to hear you are on the mend! Did you try the ball cannon with the pups? thanks! Ball cannon? nope not yet, but then my yard is not that big and I think the neighbors would tire of retrieving the balls instead of my dogs. Besides I think they know my 'good' arm is not working well - When I toss a ball with my wrong arm, it won't go far cause well my wrong arm just can't throw a ball. So when I do, the dogs will pick up the ball that landed nearby get it, then take off across the yard then return for another toss.

Quote: Ball cannon? Yeah, had mentioned it earlier in your thread. Maybe take them to the park and use it, if you have curmudgeon neighbors. I've heard the PT is the toughest part of the whole process, hope you get most of your range of motion back.

To the dog park is a good idea, IF I want all the dogs chasing the balls So far, my PT is not too bad, Working on getting my strength back. The pain is finally receding and I can sleep at night again.
