Nice one. I don't think the stars are doubled. Their just showing a die marker.

Note the start that are affected are towards the rim, like we also see on the devices between the tops of the devices near the rim. That is die wear. Just like the heavy die flow on the fields making lines in the direction of the closest rim. What causes these? It the cause by the metal movement of the metal being shaped by the die over and over again and again. Same event happening during the strike. Causes wear on the dies after hundreds of thousands of strikes. It maybe a minor DDR or maybe a coin contact if that is the only one device showing this. If it were a stronger DDR, then the devices would be showing spread on them. Here is an example of the Philly DDR for that year. (I could find a Denver one that is on PCGS):

Note how the corners are affected on these devices. This is the strongest areas affected. But did you not the spread is going the same direction of on the devices even during the curve of the devices. Also note that the notches are on the center of the affected devices and not on the outside edges of the devices. This is because the the spread, or the distance is slightly different between two hub processes.
Here is the DDO-001 (Not saying this matches your coin, but the 'T' looked closer than DDO-005. The 005 is a QDO (Quad). If your Motto was that big, then you would have posted images of that area on your coin. How much doubling need to be present to be a match for a known die number? All of it has to match even angles have to match. I is not that die because something looks close.

CoopHome: How much of the doubling have to match in order to be from that listed die number? Does being close count?

Thanks SamCoin,Spence, Dearborn,Willburton and coop. SamCoin I had a hard time getting pics it seems to be a rougher surface, maybe because of late stage die flow lines like coop referenced. I didn't think it was a DDR, or notice the stars or any notching, I was just showing the die marker, die gouge between the N and I. But interesting! I will have to look again. Thanks for all the info coop!

@coop here are some more pics, if this is not the DDO-005 FS-105, Quad Die, I have no idea which one it would be.
Everything seems like a perfect match to me including the die markers. Thanks for looking and for the information!

It looks correct now. Those are the first areas to look for doubled/tripled/quad DD's is on the motto areas. The rest all come after that.

@spence it's a DDO, not a DDR. What you saw on the stars is just MD and reflection of light.

Nice coin and impressive that you have the patience to examine enough coins, and knowledge to know what to look for, to identify this example as a desired 1964 Kennedy half variety.

To me - it's just another 90% silver half dollar.

Thanks nickelsearcher, I love Kennedy halves especially those that are DDO's, DDR's or RPMs. I am definitely just learning. I enjoy the hobby and this site and the people who post their coins and all the people who help everyone with their knowledge, which I have very little of. I also enjoy the sites most commonly referenced here like VarietyVista and wexler's Doubled Dies and coppercoins to learn about the different varieties. It is a fascinating hobby to me. I buy one every now and then to add to my small collection like this one, since I have taken a break from roll hunting for awhile because of too much hassle and finding very little.

Ok yep, thx to @will, @gsp, @coop, and @sam for the correction. Those stars certainly had me fooled.
