What that set is, is a Philadelphia Minted Uncirculated set. it would have cone in a white envelope along with the Denver mints uncirculated set as well. Here is an image of my P mint uncirculated set. then the full uncirculated set THEN, a San Francisco Proof set

I think thats the Philadelphia mint set should be a Denver pack with red stripe with it.

Or is this just a regular Philadelphia mint set? It is a little hard to see mintmarks through the glare, but I can't seem to make out any mintmarks. with halfamind about tampering with the case possibility.

Half a 1975 US Mint Set, that's all. None of the other coins have a mintmark either.

you bet. as soon as I saw the package the OP put up, I knew exactly what it was. I guess having collected every single uncirculated, proof, and silver proof sets, it gets easy to recognize what is what..

Quote: No way proof in cello in 1975. Of course not, since 1964 was the last year they were issued in cello holders

The 1964 U.S. proof sets were issued in cello packaging. The 1965 Special Mint Sets were also issued in cello, but then the 1966-67 Special Mint Sets were issued in hard plastic cases, as has been all proof coinage from 1968 onward.
I'd be interested in seeing a photo of the 1964 hard case you mentioned. Is it possible it's some type of aftermarket case?

I wrote down, and when I go where I have the collections I will take photos. What must be understood it is the Mint always do some sets for specific customers or some gifts. I like to collect those, with the price come on. It is a passion and is the way is go.

@silviosi: 1964 the mint produced their proof mint sets in packages like this and nothing else. It was until 1965 that the Mint started using hard cases for the proof sets. If you have a set from 1964 in a hard case, then somebody used an after market case and set the coins in it. If the Mint had used a hard case for the 1964, trust me, I would walk to the Moon trying to get one for myself.....
