Looking at long term value perspective

IMO, these coins were produced in sufficient numbers to meet future demand - I don't see them ever achieving high prices on the secondary market. So, I would not buy them as an investment. (Just my opinion, of course, your mileage may vary.)

That said, from a pure collecting standpoint, the set would be a nice one to assemble.

If you are after a set of same labels, then look at ebay SOLD auctions for an idea of average cost.

Remember any coin cracked out and resubmitted is never guaranteed the same grade (even to the same company). Some of those MS69 and MS70 assignments can be the same coin outside the ink on the label. There is no verifiable set of standards used in grading which helps keeps the re-slabbing profits rolling in.

I also agree the demand will likely never make these a good investment. And I also agree a set of them sure looks nice!

@ nfine... Congratulations!

If you do decide to put this set together for the fun and beauty provided (and I hope you do), I strongly suggest doing it with Proof Silver coins, as opposed to Mint State. My reasoning is the Proof Silver coins have nicer eye appeal due to the minting process than Mint State Silver coins!

I'd like to start silver State Quarters, just trying to figure out whether to go for uncirculated or proof or graded proof - what are your thoughts?

Well if you are looking for silver State Quarters, you will only find them in proof sets. So it is definitely an achievable task but there are a TON of the quarters 5 each year starting in 1999.
I have done it - took me about a year or 2 to get them all (not graded) and placed them in a Dansco album. (you can see them by clicking the hot link in my signature below.)
Getting them upgraded will be cheaper and you can buy them by the 5 coin sets or pay more for individually graded coins.
when you start, please post your progress here in this topic for us to see as you progress through your acquirement phase.

My silver proof quarter set was created from the 5 coin lens from the annual silver proof sets

I was able to do it for a little less then the silver value

Gorgeous set, Boba!!

A few questions/notes...

Are you going to continue your silver quest with the women quarters?
Similarly, will you go back to '92 when the US Mint started producing silver proof quarters?
At some point will you do custom CAPS pages with coin names/descriptions?
Your KY Statehood Quarter needs a slight rotation

Again, fantastic set!

I know this is a late response, but I'm not on here a lot

Yes, I plan to collect all commemorative quarters in silver and can't wait to see the 2026 designs

Quote:

No, I really only collect commemorative coins

No, I'm happy with the versatility of blank pages since I can re-organize them at will

Just recently I deciced to rearrange most of my coins to accomodate the 2026 Coins and the CAPS system made it simple

Rotation is a problem with all 1st gen CAPS pages

It was addressed with the T pages by adding a small intented tab to the pocket but I don't think they have done this for the A and H pages yet

Again, fantastic set!

Thanks
