I like it for MS65 even a (plus added on). Can see them calling it MS66 based only on the TrueView.

Would you believe me if I told you this was in a 63 holder!?! I had to pay between 63-64 money for it but I have a feeling this is getting cracked and resubmitted. I was with all of you in my grading assessment, hopefully we are right!

I hope so after reassessing the photo I do see some more contact marks in the hair, but they are not in the area of interest and if the dollar has the luster it looks like it might have, then it's worthy of resubmitting, I'm still at MS65 maybe not the plus/star grade but things are usually very different from a TrueView and in hand comparisons, as IndianGoldEagle said, TrueViews are for making the coin appear the absolute best it can in the right circumstances of lighting and exposure. In hand can change how the coin looks by a wide margin many times. Hope you do get an upgrade, I don't know about 2 points through, unless the holder is fairly old like more than 10 years or so. The past decade they have not changed that much in grading dollars at all.

another reason to not believe trueviews. if those photos were even close to what this coin looks like in hand, no one would put a 63 on this coin. awaiting resub
can you post in hand photos if you didnt send it yet?

I'll post when it gets here next week. Rumor is luster is absolutely booming.

There's got to be something we are not seeing in the Trueview photos for this to be a 63.

The neck is not as pristine as the trueview shows, but that is all I could see in the sellers pics.

I took pictures at a steep angle to really show it in the worst light! Booming luster, bright white coin. I think it as least a 64 and honestly looks like a lot of my 65+'s.

using the new photos I would have put this one at MS63. the scratches on the cheek and jaw are deeper than I would want to see on a 64 then add that to the eagle feather hits. the grade is correct.
when possible always post in-hand photos as well or folks will be giving inaccurate assessments. I always drop grades for trueview by 1 as well as color if appropriate. the trueview photos on this one really hid those flaws

Me too the close up photos would make me drop 2 points off it. Way too many hits in the main focal area on Liberty, looks like she was beaten with a chain.

cboyera: Think surface preservation first and foremost. Luster is a distant second. You had the advantage of knowing the grade. PCGS graded it 63 for a reason. If you like the coin when seeing it in hand that is all that matters.

The positive: 'E. Plur' struck up more sharply struck than most coins in this series.
The negative: The heavy dings on the neck truncation an '2' of the date stand out a bit. I don't know if they will disappoint you.
Nice luster, but those dings hold it back somewhat. MS-63.
Hypothetically, If I bought it at an advantageous enough price (including shipping), below MS-63, I would be happy to add it to my collection.
