I'm at VF-30, but would probably pay 35 money for it. Nice coin!

Giving mine a bump from VF30 to VF35. Could see a swing anywhere from VF30- XF40.

i'll stick with my netted grade of VF35. if I have in hand photos I ignore TV's and the original photos are excellent to assess by also jacrispies quote of Quote: If the coin is full of luster but all the devices are flat, then you know it is high grade. Luster is my first impression to every coin. is spot on when looking at these early silver pieces.

I'll up my VF25 guess to a VF30.

This one graded VF-25. I was disappointed in this grade, I thought it would be 30/35. This is one where I don't feel like the graders know this die pair - the centers are always soft.
Westcoin had it until being swayed by the TV.

I had it at 30, but 25 does not entirely surprise.

It is a strong 25. The eye appeal along should have bumped it up 5 points.

Quote: This is one where I don't feel like the graders know this die pair - the centers are always soft. inconsistency with TPG grading these with soft strikes is one reason why I have a problem grading these. some graders take that into consideration and I've seen many that do not. in examples like this buy the coin not the slab. you got a great deal at that price. maybe a bean would be a consideration to give it a bump. I mean just look at the sharpness of the higher devices on this coin. no way its a 30

A TPG rule of thumb is coins under XF do not take strike weakness into account when assigning a numeric grade. I heard that years ago and have seen evidence of it many times. This is another example.
