I'd agree on dumping those except for the economy being so low, I suggest waiting for a while. Hopefully if things pick up you may get a little more per coin. Although, remember that the greatest amount of coin collectors are for small denomination coins. Ikes are to big and to difficult to find so many collectors ignor them.

Personally I would sell them and hope to get $1.10 to $1.20 each, and then take that money and buy whatever you collect (I would buy silver or gold myself). I just dont see Ikes gaining any serious value anytime soon. I can still get them from banks from time to time.

I grab them up when they are available at the bank. I just have been lucky to accumulate a lot lately for face. Who would buy them besides putting them on ebay?

You can always sell half now, then in the future sell the other half. This way you won't feel guilty 20 years from now if they do happen to appreciate in value.

What mints for 1972 and 1978? I'm half way through what I have sitting around and have plenty of 72's and 74's. Even found 2 proof 74's that I was able to pick up for face value from the bank.

This is what I came up with (along with some smelly & dirty hands). Man do circulated coins stink!! But I love that smell at the same time...haha.

1971P-10
1971D-54
1972P&D-124 too many to count individually but I did see a mixture
1974P-3
1974D-37
1974S-2
1976-over 200 with all varieties included along with 3 clad proofs
1977P-14
1977D-22
1978P-10
1978D-25
1978S-2

Would you like a 72 & 74 to finish out your collection?

Yotie. No problem. I'll start looking for some nice ones for you.

I have several sets I'm currently working on. Got any extras laying around you'd like to trade?

Mercury dimes, walkers, indians, wheaties?

Thanks.
