No goal for me, not a stacker. Have very modest assortment of silver picked up while roll searching and accumulation of old collections--US and foreign.

I'm done with silver as it pertains to stacking. I achieved my goal, mostly. the only silver I want is whatever I have left to acquire for my 7070. after assembling my ASE 'collection' I now know how much it weighs, based on those 99 ounces. acquiring more silver can wait. I'm focused more on gold. (my goal for gold: as much as I can get my hands on, as fast as I can)

A professional financial advisor once told me: "Up to about 5% of your total investments can be in bullion, art numismatics, or the like."
Which of these categories to decide upon should be up the to individual judgement of the investor, because in most of these cases, the investor has the interest and sufficient expertise to back his own judgement on what, when where and how to buy and sell.

I buy ASE's and coins as time and money permits. I dont consider myself a stacker but by these metrics who knows I don't have near enough of either but probably in the 2,000 to 3,000 ounce range my goal for the year (2023) is to add 500 to 1,000 ounces

I feel like a bit player! Some quasi-quick calculations from my spreadsheets tell me I cracked the hundred ounce boundary after 40+ years of collecting (not stacking), and you guys are pulling this and more each year.

The answer is ... it's never enough! My main upper bound is the wife. I'll likely be back in the market when retail price (total cost of ownership) hits $20 (including tax and shipping), which means spot will likely need to hit $18 or below.

It's just like what wood workers say about clamps, you can never have enough clamps. I can never have enough silver. I buy 10oz bar a month. I also collect a lot of series such as Pandas, Koala, kookaburras, marvel series etc.

Never enough on the way up, always too much on the way down.

It depends on each person, how much they want, can afford, storage capacity at home or bank box, the risk willing to take to have a lot at home, etc.
A few YouTube stackers suggested having enough silver to sell to pay your bills for several months. Another said 1,000 ounces is enough because it's bulky and heavy, after that buy gold which is easier to store and easier to take with you if need be. Some stackers on the forums show pics of their silver, have 5K to 10K ounces, not me. I like to say To Each Their Own.
