I took a picture of my monitor of my digital microscope, which is why it looks grainy, and distorted. I will use the microscope camera and get new original pics with the right lighting. Wexler-1955p WDDO-003, AND CC- also 003

Does not look like 003 to me. When taking photos take them the exact same way, they are presented on the reference site. Also, best not to post photos of scope screens, use a memory card in the scope.

Does anyone have an example of the die crack on the lower left of the wheat kernels as stated on Wexler. I haven't seen that picture yet.

How about an image of the T of CENT.

That die chip should be really large on your coin.

(Or how about a full reverse and obverse image?)

Guess I should start thumbing through my 55 rolls. Obviously I don't have the Monster 55 DD but this post has got me wondering about other possibilities.

An image of it would be nice since many dies from this period experience chips on the T.

I took pictures of most markers even though Wexler stated some were no longer visible in later die states. I left out the front and back of the neck. those are no longer visible.
Wexler page quote : Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: A light die scratch runs WSW/ENE to the left of the back of the neck. Obverse Stage B: Die scratch is weaker. Die clash remnant at front of throat. Die crack runs SW/NE through upper hair. Obverse Stage C: Die scratch is gone. Die crack through hair is stronger. Reverse Stage A: Die crack down right side of T in CENT. Die crack through lower right wheat kernels. Reverse Stage B: Same as Stage A. Reverse Stage C: Same as Stage B.

I think you are missing rule #1 here: you need to find the doubled die first and then match die markers.Having the die chip on the T on the reverse means it just wasn't changed out,the obverse still is not doubled.

Pretty nice images. Thanks.
I agree with John1 100%. The variety must be there first. The markers are second. Your coin doesn't have the thickness to the date and LIBERTY.
The "spines" (left side) of IBE should be thicker and curved for this variety (classic Class 6 doubling). The ones on your coin are not curved.
The tails of "95" should exhibit thickness and your coin does not.

With that being said, your images make it fairly easy to see that the die crack on the "T" on CENT on your coin doesn't match, as shown on the CC images.

Your coin is a VLDS coin.
The die crack on the "T" on your coin is fairly long and thin.
The die crack on the "T" of the CC images is much shorter but wider.
The die crack on the "T" on your coin should be just as wide (or wider) as the CC images. It isn't.

Ok ok. I concede. I thought I saw more than I did. I will give up on this one. The T on the back threw me all in on this. Thanks for the input, definitely appreciated it.

Glad to help.
We've probably all been there before, not wanting to give up on a coin.
