Its a gold ring 10k with some tiny diamond chips in it.
EgCollector. There are companies in Europe that will ship to Egypt. when I get back home I will do some research. I have no knowledge on the radioshack ones...

I love looking at everybody's finds ... it's so difficult not to go out and get a metal (or cotton ) detector for myself!

EgCollector, Are there any limitations to where one can use a metal detector in Egypt? There certainly must be a lot of places to find old coins.

EgCollector be very careful detecting as there are still unexploded ordnance like landmines and bombs from all the different wars that have ravaged Egypt in the last 70 years, just be careful how you dig.

Well 4 days in California yielded less than a buck Went to a park in Morrow bay only to find a local detectorist already there. The same thing happened at two elementary schools. The couple of parks we found at Merced had been cleaned out. In Utah for the next day then Colorado Hopefully things will improve..

Guess you won't be going back to those parks will ya . As long as you are enjoying your trip. Hopefully the next stops will make up for it.

Glad the detecting is a side event to your trip. You must be enjoying all the places you are visiting. I also have been reading the results of your hunts for some time and really enjoy seeing what you find. Have fun, good luck and safe travels.

What I find most interesting is the 50 cent piece. I've seen you pull out some small dollar coins before, but how many 50 cent pieces do you really find? I would think it would be a rarity.

are you doing any gold hunting in Utah or Colorado? For some reason, I'm getting the gold hunting bug but still have a few years before I can hit the high chapperal to look for any. I've been thinking New Mexico.
I'm a dirt digger in Florida and your finds look alot like mine, I'm getting tired of clad and crapola.

My machine is not really suitable for gold hunting. I am still happy enough to go digging in school yards and parks. Clad adds up and the occasional jewelry keeps it exciting..
