From start/finish.... the evolution of a thread can take many different directions. Mmmmmm, toxic chemicals!
So, did you buy a Morgan yet?

Be very careful and either purchase a slab Morgan or from a reputable seller. I have the Dansco album with all the Morgan's except 12. I bought a Sigma precious metal verifier and tested all the coins. Three of them were fake. Lucky they were only $30 coins and easy to replace.

Go for it if you want. I'm very happy with my Morgan collection and plan on adding to it. I have three coins each year from 1878 to1890 and three from 1921. They are all in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. I think it's one of the nicer looking coins out there.

It was in the coins I inherited years ago. I started my Morgan collection in 2021 and almost all of them were purchased from APMEX except six that I got from Currency And Coin. I stopped at 1890 because after that they got a little pricey.

Raiden, you dropped $35 on a cull coins ebay listing despite warnings from the community. You could have purchased a very decent Morgan dollar with that money.

Quote: I am deciding, the thing is I dont have a job so money is hard to come by for me, but I probably will You can do some buying and selling, that is how I made money to buy coins. If you want decent coins, you'll have to hustle a little harder. I used to feel bad spending $35 on a handful of coins because that was a lot of money a few years ago. Now I am delving into Capped Bust halves worth $500+ per coin! Pass the junk, buy the good stuff. There are deals out there. But you have to start somewhere...

I wouldn't buy an dull-looking circulated Morgan like the one you showed. I would wait until I had the bread to buy one I really liked. As has been pointed out, a common date (such as a 1921 Philly) in beautiful condition can be had for not a lot of money. Save up for something like that and you'll be glad you did. You'll enjoy looking at it every day and be proud to show it off to people.

If you want a really pretty MS Morgan, your best bet for the money would probably be an 1881-S. Most of those were very nicely struck and they made enough to sink a battleship.

The last Morgans I bought were in Dec. 2021. The order was 3 1889 BU and 3 1890 BU and they were $73 each. That was the lowest price I paid for any of my Morgans except my 1921 BUs which were $57 each. If you're going for looks then Brilliant Uncirculated is what to look for.
