Well, those must be from coin roll hunting, and it is always nice to see a Buffalo nickel even though the one you found is common. To answer Joshu-a is that is a Mexican 5 pesos...

Congrats on the find! And the Mexican coin is a 1 peso which has a diameter almost the same as a nickel (21mm vs. 21.2mm). At current exchange rates the peso is actually worth about 5-1/2 cents, so you came out a little ahead on that one...

The easiest way to hook them up with dates is to give them a few days in some vinegar... works about 90% of the time.

Just started hunting nickels. I'm currently on my 3rd box. I was previously searching only quarters. My best finds so for in the nickels: -1907 V nickel- 1937 Buffalo - 1974 on a clipped planchet - I have also found 3 War NickelsMy best finds in the quarters so for: - 1983-P Spitting Eagle - 1954-S My first silver. Took me 19 boxes to find.
