I have a coin show coming up, so I might have to pass on the release hysteria and take a chance on it latter.

As much as I would like to collect this series, I have to pass, the Mint has attached a price that is a bit to steep for me. I'm going to have to scale back what I would normally get from the Mint to keep up with the increases to the ASE, my main concern. Maybe the price will drop in the Secondary Market, only time will tell!

Yeah, I also have to consider that there will be more appealing items being release next year.

A pass for me - I'm not much of a collector/buyer of "Pop Culture" on coins or medals.

As much as I like the design, not interested in the price. May keep an eye on the secondary market down the line to see if it drops. This is a "like to have", but not a "must have" item.

It would certainly have been more appealing in the US Mint Silver's less expensive days.

Gold Batman is only a sawbuck short of 3G's! If you know what a sawbuck is without looking it up......you're old.

Got in line to purchase my gold Batman coin 15 minutes ahead of release time knowing this would probably an instant sell-out {sarcasm}. Was taken to purchase area 20 seconds after 12 EDT, and filled in my information and checked all the required boxes. Was greeted with a notice that my form of payment was not approved and to try another form of payment. Knowing that there was enough money in my account I stubbornly tried again using debit card linked to my checking account. This time I was refused indicating "household limit reached." So I assume my first attempt was successful despite the message I received (I think the same thing happened to me back in July when I ordered the Superman coin. Not too worried because I'm guessing there will be fewer ordering this coin than the Superman release and there will be plenty left days afterward. Incidentally, when I got to the payment area there was a message that said anticipated shipping date was January 26th (or was it 25th?), 2026. Hopefully gold will be $7,000 an ounce by then so I can feel good about this purchase. Holding my breath.

Going back to my Mint "Bag Summary" I see the shipping date for Batman is actually January 29, 2026.

Also, went back to Mint site at 9:15. No virtual line, so either sold-out, or light demand on the website. I wonder which......

I could swear that when Superman went on sale there were already listings on ebay for slabbed 70s with various labels from both NGC and PCGS. Today for Batman, not a single one.

The Royal Canadian Mint experimented with these types of "Pop Culture" coins a few years ago with Batman, Looney Tunes, Superman, Wonder Woman etc. They were seen to "cheapen" the hobby to knick knack level and the experiment ended and the mint went back to producing more conventional coins. There's not much demand for these coins on the secondary market...like at all.
