Quote: I am holding out that The 2025 250th Anniversary seen Will have Fine Detailed devices, Clearly Seen, Where " others " have Failed, I think West Point did a good enough job on the Army and Laser. It's San Francisco that seems to be letting everyone down. I haven't seen a really great strike, either the devices (normal ASE design) or the privy mark on a Navy privy, and the regular 2025 S proof. So we'll see how the Marine privy stacks up against these earlier releases. Unsure if the San Francisco Mint just isn't using enough pressure or enough strikes. Again realize the the master dies are what makes the working dies, the dies are probably fine, it's what they are doing with them at the mint that's the problem. I'd love to see a Navy privy working die up close, to see how much detail they intended to have. I'd it possibly that the design is too ornate and the detail isn't coming through properly?

Dearborn, the Marines had a purpose on our ships, besides escorting prisoners around, ever notice how shiny all the brass plaques were...

Oh man you guys, now you're triggering my memories. My dad was drafted into the Corp during Korea. Coming back, he owned a gas station. He was a member of the VFW and he had a good amount of VFW members as customers, maybe because of the association with VFW, but in my somewhat slanted view, he was also a hell of a good mechanic and honest to the bones. He could be somewhat of a gruff individual, but had a good heart. Anyways, there were some people who would tease him about various things. When you're a veteran, other veterans can do that, (especially if you're a veteran of a certain branch teasing the veteran of another certain branch). So the veteran is this one branch says to my dad "Hey do you know why they had Marines on Navy ships?" My dad just shrugs, waiting for the joke, I guess. "So the swabbos have someone to dance with." He at that point just turns towards me smirking, suppressing a laugh.

I missed this release. Found out today that the US Mint booth at the Baltimore Whitman show had some, so now I have two.
Also picked up a second Army privy.

Already set an alarm, because I'm not missing it again.
I'm a bit disappointed the show wasn't next week, so I could aim for a second.
