Well I recommend this book, it is up to date to 2021 (time of printing) and was released in 2022  I cannot remember If I got the 11-S separately or from the 5 coin set. If you want, you can get a glimpse of what you are getting into by checking out the ASE link in my signature. I myself am still trying to get a complete set of ASE. (I have all the Proofs and burnished now, and am finishing up the Bullion coin) Best wishes on your new project. |

In addition, I think getting the Burnished ASE's (the uncirculated ones with a mint mark) is the easiest one to start with. The ASE's with no MM are bullion coins. Burnished ones start with 2006-W |

The 2011-S Burnished Uncirculated American Silver Eagle is the first silver eagle minted in San Francisco and was intended for a 5-coin silver eagle set commemorating the 25th anniversary of the American Silver Eagle series. Only 100000 of these sets were produced and this is the same mintage figure for the coin. You dont need a book to start collecting and there are many online resources for info including what commems mentioned, but I agree if you want to become a dedicated collector with Dearborns book https://whitman.com/american-silver...4th-edition/ as well as https://whitman.com/guide-book-of-a...lver-eagles/ if you'd like to buy one. I have the Mercanti book (1st edition IIRC) and it is informative and interesting. The first few chapters where Mercanti is talking about the coin program and his memoirs regarding it are the good stuff. Once it gets into the individual coins, it turns into more of a reference that you can get from any online source or other publication (i.e., mainly stats and figures). It is a good book to have in your collection if you are an avid ASE collector. |

Thanks guys for the info and the links! I have been looking things up on a case by case basis online but do want a good book to keep on hand. Thanks Data for that info, that means one less burnished in OGP I have to hunt down lol.
Yeah I am starting with proofs and burnished until I do my research and get all the info I need to make a list of the bullion pieces I want to collect. I have 10 burnished and 14 or 15 proofs so far. I got my V75 the other day, an keeping my eyes open for an affordable 08 Rev 07. It's that 1995 W that's gonna really hold me up from being "complete," will have to save up all year(s) for that.

and don't forget about the 'King of the Eagles - The 2019-S Enhanced Reverse Proof, with a mintage of only 29,910.

John, I never thought about the Easiest ASE's to acquire Being the UNC's.... Usually they are historically the Lowest mintage coins, also the " under dog " or least sought after, NO ?  |

Think about it, there are 30, 124- 1995-West Point Mint Marked Silver Gold Eagle sets out there, by all indications, they are Not producing them any time soon.... Tic Toc......  ps, I wish they made the 1995-W Uncirculated ASE...   |

Thanks John for the Clarity. I enjoy a Hard Copy Library, I just simply rely on Holding on to and researching Books, for the Hobby/Passion. I just ordered This ASE Series book, for a Reference, I have been wanting a Good American Silver Eagle Hard Copy, to add to my Library.....  Every coin collector Needs a Good Solid Library. , IMO... Some may Not like the Hard copy approach. Some may be More Computer savvy and That source is Best for them, How ever the Knowledge is obtainable, Get It !!!!!! " Learn that Poem "  |
