Quote: Okay just wondering because an app I have says that there are no 11.5 gram Kennedy half dollars. Unless it's an error or they are fake. According to a quick Google search, a 40% silver Kennedy half dollar 1965-1970 weighs 11.50 grams. A typical 1971-present Kennedy half dollar weighs 11.34 grams. Clad in cupro-nickel with a copper core. A 90% silver Kennedy 1964 half dollar weighs 12.5 grams. What years are your other Kennedy half dollar coins? That could explain the difference.

CoinSnap is an IA driven identification app. It seems to have people that like it, but some others report problems. I haven't downloaded the app yet so I don't have any firsthand experience with it. I did find an article/review as seen here. https://viraltalky.com/coinsnap-app-review/I'm going to try it out and I'll post what I find.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

11.5g is exactly what a 40% silver Kennedy half (1965-1970) is supposed to weigh. Whatever app you're using is garbage.

If you compare the 68 and 69 Observe, you see differences in the Design. In 69 the Mint raised the Design, so you can not compare. To see if fake do an XRF but not worth. I never find a fake of 65 to 89.

If someone faked a 1965-1970 40% silver Kennedy half, they would be immediately nominated for the Henning Award. Way too much effort and risk for way too little reward, and way too easy to catch.
