Why can't I find this topic on the forum? Did my post get taken down? I just can't find this post on the grading section in which I posted it, weird.

What do you mean? If it were taken down, you would not have been able to ask that question.

I'll say AU-58 as well, but it's tough to tell without the coin in hand. Spectacular find!

Wish I could find stuff like this in change

It's obviously not Uncirculated since you found it that way, but looks AU55-AU58 to me!

Congrats!

Since you found it in the cash drawer at work, it's technically been circulated and an AU58.

Some people may confuse circulated as a grade,it is not. Also, mint state "MS" is also a gray area. You can find a coin from circulation that might grade a MS60 even though it was not straight from the mint but from a cash draw or whatever.

Okay, it's been circulated, but so have half the low MS graded coins you see... Probably was uncirculated until some kid liberated it from Gramps collection. I run into those occasionally, old coins in mint condition, impaired proofs, etc. I'll say AU-58, but it would probably grade MS at a TPG...
