I'll say MS-64.

For the many of you grading 64, how about some thoughts about your reasoning?

The nearly mark free coin is not showing luster for a grade above MS62. I am with NS the coin appears to have been dipped as the stars are showing white rings where toning may have been removed.

So far one poster is close to the numeric grade NGC assigned. Will post that tomorrow.

This is why I'm a collector / part-time seller, and not a professional grader. That's a super nice coin.

Well bullocks! That's a monster! Clearly I was deceived by the photos as opposed to my poor grading skills

Nice coin and clean surfaces but the luster appears muted from the photographs. 1860-o surfaces are usually frosty. Chances are practically nil that this coin came from the Treasury hoard as very few of those coins even reached the MS 63 level according to Dave Bowers. This coin is not up for auction but is in Heritage's inventory and priced at $28,750.

Yes Heritage is the seller if anyone wants this particular coin.

I'm with KenKat and Slider23 - MS-62, maybe 63. Rim dings at 8-9 and light scrapes in the field is my reasoning. That said, it is a very nice Seated dollar.
