Reacting to the excellent post by @Sap that's now nearly 2 years old ...

The 1424 St. Gallen coin that is the earliest in this category is out of range of most collectors:

I think that "accessible" (low to mid 3-figure prices) dated coins like we are talking about here started in the late 1450s in Austria:

My earliest with modern numerals is this 1474 2 stuiver ("dubbele vuurijzer") of Flanders, like the coin Finn70 posted, but one ruler earlier. IN addition to a pair of those old-style 4s, it's got a rotated 7 as well:

I went to a local flea market recently and couldn't find anything I liked till I seen this one in the consignment section. 420-438 Sasanian Drachm. (My first ancient)
