Quote: May I ask, How Many 5-Ounce Coins were Totally Made, in the Series..... :) There were 56 releases in total. One for each state in the union plus six territories. 56 x 5 = 280 oz. of silver. As a side note, the only other 5-oz coin I'm aware of issued by the US Mint is the Apollo 50th Anniversary commemorative in 2019. So those special presses have been sitting idle since 2021 with a total of 57 issues. Could be wrong on that one, maybe they released a medal or two in that format.

Quote: The APOLLO coin is Sweet Too in Proof !!! Indeed, and it's convex (or concave, depending on which face you're looking at ) Quote:All in the Series were UNCIRCULATED finishes, Correct ? Well, sorta. The ones direct from the U.S. Mint bear the P mint mark and have a vapor-blasted, unciruclated finish. You could also purchase bullion versions from PM dealers. Those would have no mint mark and a shinier finish.

The 5 ATB 5 oz coins issued in 2014 had an issue price of $149.95. I purchased one of them in 2015 (Homestead) and one in 2016 (T. Roosevelt NP) and my ledger shows they were also $149.95. Beautiful series.

Teddy retailed for $149.95. That's a solid design for the reverse.

Being From The Town of Oyster Bay, It was a Treat to get a Teddy. Not long Ago, While Entering the West Shore Road and Pre Bayville Area, in the Town of Oyster Bay, The Residents Had a Life Like Statue of Theodore Roosevelt Erected in Town. Our 26TH President, The Statue of Teddy is Him on His Horse, Depicting His Rough Rider Days, Very Powerful Land Mark Since !!!! Teddy had a House in the Town of Oyster Bay called Sagamore Hill, His Summer White House.... Now a Teddy Roosevelt Museum !!!! Thought I would Share....... Love His 5-Ounce Baby.... Just saw an ebay listing for the Original 56 coin set of 5 Ounce coins.all Original paperwork from the U S Mint and a Total of 280 Ounces of 999% Silver, $12,500.00 Takes All.... $223.00 Per Coin......

While it's disappointing that it's been 3 years since the press has been used, I seriously doubt I'd pay $380 for 5 oz of silver no matter what they cranked out

So the average price per coin retail was $180. Seller is making $2,500 (less fees and shipping) assuming original owner that purchased from the mint. While awesome, I would never drop $12.5k on this set in one fell swoop. It was much easier to eke it out over the 11+ years one coin at a time (and pay $43/coin less). As much fun as it was to collect, if I had the choice to do it again, I probably would not.

Coffee and curiousity led to a stroll through ebay "sold" listings this morning for ATB 5 oz. specimens. . .page after page with $500 - $525 results. My modest stack came direct from the USM at $149.95 each. . .five from 2014, one each from 2015, 2016. If I had the need to sell, I suspect these would go before I started in on my ASE bullion cache. MDad's March 2024 citation above: Quote:Just saw an ebay listing for the Original 56 coin set of 5 Ounce coins.all Original paperwork from the U S Mint and a Total of 280 Ounces of 999% Silver, $12,500.00 Takes All.... $223.00 Per Coin...... made me curious to see if complete sets are being offered. APMEX offers free delivery for $33,305.00 - $594.73 each for the bullion versions. A BIN listing for the Burnished versions in OGP for $28,446 -- $507.96 each has attracted over 110 watchers. Have a fine day.
