TO sum up - attractive coins and of everything the three coins you get that would never have gotten when Morgans and Peace were circulated (yes albeit lightly in the marketplace and mostly among banks) that you got 2021 - a deep cameo proof, a Peace proof, and reverse proof.

The downside of course is they are commemorative and as an ongoing series their value declines with each issue until a settled price point is reached. For me I just got the 2023 Proof and Uncirculated Peace dollars. Other than that just one CC Morgan circulated and a few Peace dollars circulated (one of them being the 1928). IN the long term the 2021 Morgans and Peace will diminish in value for the main reason they are commemoratives and have a VERY low chance of ever being put into circulation unlike NIFC clad Kennedys, golden dollars and even some clad modern half dollar commems. I also think 2021 will be one of the highest mintage years of the series as interest will peter out after people see the same old same old. This has happened with ASEs until the reverse was changed. Now the ASEs with the old reverse are slowly attaining numismatic value. This is part that some people didn't store the uncirculated strikes that well. Mintages then fell as the price of silver dropped in the early to mid 1990s and then climbed by the late 1990s and surged during economic downturns. The problem with the Peace and Morgan series is the US Mint is far more beholden tot he design so there is a greater risk of stagnation compared to the ASE. If I were the US Mint I would continue the Peace and Morgans only till 2029, about the number of years the Peace dollar was issued (1921 - 28 then 1934).

What I would do is watch sales of these and try to buy them toward the end of their period of sale (well unless subscribers exhaust inventory) or check for mintage limits. You may find mintages fall over time and making them better candidates for accruing a long-term premium than those from the first few years of the series. I would not get the 2021 nwo as I think you are going to pay top dollar and may miss out on some lower mintage issues.

I picked up the RP and proof coins for my Type set and plan on getting 1 of each Unc. I really hope 2023 was a one year for the RP and proof coins. I know the 2024 versions have subscriptions on the mint site. If this continues annually, I would expect all the modern Morgan and Peace (including the 2021 issues) would decline in value. The way I look at them is like the 2001 Buffalo Silver dollar. They had a very high mintage, but was only issued for 1 year. The price has been fairly steady on that one as I think the market can absorb the mintage. Now imagine they made one for 2002,2003,2004 ect. They would probably be around melt after several years. I'm not saying these coins would be near melt; as a counter argument could be ASEs. But for the coins to hold value, I think they would need a large following that would be willing to collect these as a series. With the premium the mint charges for silver coins these days, that may be a hard pill to swallow.

I purchased one 2021 from the Denver Mint (since I live 20 miles away from them) from my local coin shop. Other than that I have bought no more and do not collect Morgan or Peace dollars old or new. Many people do, hopefully they enjoy them. There was too much of a feeding frenzy at release to ever allow much, if any, appreciation for a coin that is way more expensive than its' melt value.
