Nice 62 to 63 R&B coin. I wouldn't be ashamed of it! Thx for sharing the story!

What a great find! But from my viewpoint luck is more a statistical thing. See enough coins and some good ones will show up. Yesterday I ran through 14 BU rolls of memorial cents. Found nothing in 13 of them. The one roll with something was a 1972 roll with 5 FS-107 coins mostly MS63/4 with one that might go 65, and three WDDO-011. So yes, it's super lucky to find a coin as amazing as the posted coin, but with enough looking we do find them. Just keep looking and good stuff shows up!

Fantastic! This story makes me want to hit every garage sale in NJ.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

@jwolf, this particular coin is a rare Doubled Die FS-101 & is in MS condition. The doubling is extremely strong on the date, Liberty & IGWT, where you essentially see two sets of lettering overlapping each other.

What kind of dollar value could one expect for each of these coins and is there some sort of legitimate "coin description and range of value" thats realistic that I'm not aware of because it seems like no matter where or what I look at its so inconsistent and I don't feel like I can trust it to be the gospel so to speak.

Coin value for these can be figured out in a couple ways. ebay sold prices is easiest, just ignore the unsold stuff. Second is to go to PCGS coinfacts website and you can see a lot of sale prices for such coins under all colors and grades (note these are slabbed coins, not what you can get for an ungraded coin). Third way I think requires a login but Great Collections has sold a zillion coins and they have a tab to look at all prior auction prices (same deal, the coins are in graded slabs).

Thank you for the advice tropicalbats. I appreciate the help. I've already just about filled my notebook up which means I drastically underestimated how much there is to know that seems like can make or brake one collection in a hurry. Thanks again .
