A few months ago I found 21 States in a box. With the exception of 1, they are all '75 & '76 dates. All are outlines of the State with the 2 letter abbreviation inside. Probably some one's bi-centennial collection. I figure if I find the rest, I'll stick them on a map.

Okay, some of the guesses here are just that...
These have been made since the 1960s. I have seen a set in a board with all 50 states. The coins and the board dated from 1967.
They typically sell for 50 cents each, or $30-$50 per set.
They are still being made now, and sell in truck stops for a couple of dollars each.
These have nothing to do with the bicentennial of 1976. Any dated 1976 just happen to have been made then or thereafter.

Aha thanks for the extra info CC Admittedly, my experience with these is limited and I am sure you have seen many more than I have. Most of the individual ones I have seen are dated 1975 and 1976 but I have also seen the more recent versions at said truck stops and some loose examples as well. I have seen exactly two complete sets in person and both of the boards had a decidedly bicentennial theme to them.

Should've mentioned - both my NH and LA are '74.

Here's my complete 1974 set, and a couple of Bicentennials 1975 and 1976. And the lincoln Kennedy connection. Back in the day you could get these out of a gum machine for a quarter!

I know the scan is not good, but I really don't think it's worth the effort to take pics!

I picked up a complete set, all 50 states, on 1992 LMCs at a flea market earlier this year. I don't know what they are worth, who made them, etc. I like 'em.
