I'd say EF due to the rim wear, scratch under chin might keep it from going straight.

Thanks so much for your opinions so far, everyone! For reference, I think the "scratch" emerging from Liberty's chin is actually a die crack. I see it in other examples of the same variety--and there aren't that many out there!

The lack of denticles and complete rims seems to be pretty common on the early dimes. This particular example with die cracks , clashes and other die defects, I would assume is a later die state, so no surprise on the lack of rims. I would think this falls in the mid to low AU range.

And definitely not the expert here on the minting process back then, but I suppose there could also be strike issues.

AU58. Very nearly Uncirculated and a gorgeous early dime.

I would assume it's graded MS. Likely is an AU+ but the strike is exceptional as is the color.

Wow! That is conservative. Looks like it would be a good buy at 50 money.

Wonder if it's been net graded for some reason. Certainly looks better than a 50 to me.

Do any of you think the scratches/marks beneath the left wing on the reverse (between 9 and 10 o'clock) play a role in getting this coin "net graded?" I also think it looks better than a 50...
