I'm not sure why it wasn't attributed ultimately, but for selfish reasons I'm sure happy it wasn't! I know many people won't go out of their way to check for varieties, but to me this is a naked eye RPM.
I've always wondered what happens if a PCGS grader notices a desirable variety that wasn't requested to be attributed on the slab. From what I understand, they will automatically label the variety if it is deemed a "major variety" and so is given a separate main listing entry in their directory, but for all other varieties it would have to be marked on the submission form. Do they ever contact the owner to inform them that it's a more valuable variety, or does that just go under the "not my job" category?
