Thanks @-makecents- and Errers and Varietys! Yep def damaged I just have not seen that much damage sealed inside a mint set. The cello is not damaged so it was damaged prior to being put into the set so I figured was prob Feeder Finger Damage.

Not Feeder Finger Damage, that is done to the die, not the coin. This damage is to the coin.

ADDED: This is Feeder Finger Damage.

As stated above, damage happened after leaving the striking chamber and before going into the packaging department.
I've never seen damage so severe on a sealed mint set coin.

Nothing in the "normal" process. It happened sometime between after being struck and being packaged, who knows how it happened. Someone on a Friday, not caring and wanting to go home or maybe someone on a Monday, after a tough weekend.

Thanks! @Tacc This is the closest thing I have found except the fields do not seem to be involved.

I just did a search on this site alone that had damage in cello and came up with a few, they are out there. You just need to sift through them, some are not in mint cello.

Don't know why the link does not work, I reported it. Searched it three times and uploaded it three times.... Sorry, gsp193.

Thankyou! @-makecents- and Dearborn I appreciate it! I am thinking whatever it got hing up on was on the obverse where the diplaced metal accumulated until it was released and the reverse just went for the ride.

https://www.error-ref.com/feeder-ejector-scrapes/ If you notice in this link, the FF scrapes happen to the surface of the coin along with the rim. On yours, the rim and high spots of the devises are effected.

Thanks @Cujohn, thats what I was saying earlier to Tacc, similar but the fields are not involved. Wherever it happened it must have been a tight space, as it looks pinched, damage to both sides.
