Non-Moderator post: The humor here is kinda like joking around with a loaded gun - some people just won't ever see it as funny.

Quality as opposed to quantity.. yikes, if anyone ever really looked at mine, I might be down to what, 30? 40?

I remembered I wanted to get to 50 posts so I could BUY. The best way is to 1. Welcome the new folks to the board. 2. Ask good questions, ie. cleaning, storing, etc... 3. Ask about photography, which I still can't do at all, they always reflect the flash back to me 4. Post an occasional off coin topic for fun 5. Congratulate folks when they post they reached a milestone.

My recommendations:
1) Ask questions about coin-related topics that you've wondered about, but never had anyone to ask before.
2) Answer other members questions.
Relax, take your time, and don't post just to post. You'll be at 50 before you know it. There will still be plenty of coins to buy and sell, contests to enter, etc.

50 quality posts is not too much to ask. Why not spend just 2 weeks (which you have to be a member atleast 14 days to Buy/Sell/Trade)sharing your knowledge of coins with fellow members or learning from other members by asking questions about your coins or ones you would like to know about. The post count is there to keep people from just trying to "take" from the community without giving back. Believe me I was there not long ago, remember time flies (as well as posts) when you are having fun!

maybe the buy sell trade should be "invisible" until the person reaches 50 post/ 2 weeks

My apologies, everyone, I guess some jokes just need to be unposted, however I hope you all understand that I was certainly not posting that just to up my counter one post, I was simply bored and didn't really have anything else to post. I hope you can forgive me, and know that I'm an honest member, and I guess it would be safe to say still an amature coin collector lol.

Tim, it's great to have you here. There are many topics here to navigate and many great coin collectors contributing to this great Forum. I stumbled across it by accident and am glad I did. As you will come to find out, it's extremely addictive

This is a good suggestion. Hard to covet what you can't see.

Quote: The best way is to 1. Welcome the new folks to the board If it's in the welcome section itself, the posts do not count. Quote: This is a good suggestion. Hard to covet what you can't see. This is not an easy code change as far as I know. After reading the original post, then the moderation given by a fellow staff member, I commend you Tim, and I believe everything that you have written in this post to be honest. It is rare indeed that we actually get apologies when trying to do our jobs around here from the original poster. For the most part, this place runs itself because of the guidelines that all of members follow, and when someone strays, even for a little humor, the rebuttal we receive after moderation is usually one that is not so nice. Having said that, welcome. You will certainly enjoy your time here. Kick off your shoes and relax for a while, we're not going anywhere.

I never believed for a moment there was any dishonest intent on your part, Tim, and as it worked out we've all had the chance to up our postcount in this thread.

LOL, thanks everyone ~ I've learned a lot from this forum already, and as someone said in a post earlier, It is indeed very addicting. So I look forward to moving forward with collecting, and bringing up the many questions that i'll probably have in the near future. Sarting with, What year did the percentage of silver in the nickel, and dime drop significantly ?
