Oh, to be sure, I am a buyer. I prefer 2026 or 2031, but a 2027 I am still getting.

I'm not a fan of the 2027 issue date honoring the 26th anniversary.
Concur with jbuck to issue this in 2031.

Disappointing to see the year changed. Personally I like commemoratives (and other historic anniversary commemorations) to stick to 25-year increments.

The event transcends any year, and I see why 2026 would be missed. This is a rare commemorative I would support 100%, regardless of the year.

ADDENDUM
In early April 2025, a companion to the bill introduced by Representative Daniel Goldman (D-NY) was introduced in the Senate (S 1289) by Kirsten E. Gillibrand, (D-NY). The bill was immediately referred to the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs.
Being a companion bill, its provisions match those of the previously introduced House bill (HR 1993), including the 2027 issue date that is a mismatch for the 2026 anniversary.
GovTrack currently lists it as having a 5% chance of passage.
IMO, this one bears watching as it has the potential for rapid movement within Congress due to its subject/theme. It is considered a long shot at the moment, but such status - of course - is subject to change.

UPDATE
After more then a year of inaction by the House Committee on Financial Services - the bill was referred to the Committee in March 2025 - Representative French Hill (R-AR) made a motion in the House of Representatives ("House") on May 19, 2026 to suspend the rules and pass the bill without a Committee Report.
The bill was debated in the House and was passed on May 21, 2026; it is now with the Senate.
The issue date for the coins is now 2028 (vs. 2027) vs. the actual 25th Anniversary year of 2026. (See above for comments regarding the dates.)
GovTrack now puts the 'Prognosis' for the bill at 81% - quite a jump from the 7% chance initially given.

You were correct in your prior assessment that this bill could quickly gain momentum towards being passed. Quote: The bill was debated in the House and was passed on May 21, 2026 Does the now approved House Bill contain the same language (other than year of issue) that you reported in March 2025?

Quote: Does the now approved House Bill contain the same language (other than year of issue) that you reported in March 2025? Yes, the bill's "Findings" remain the same, the coins to be issued remain the same, the coin designs remain and the same sponsor/beneficiary is named.

1. I'm in 2. It hardly seems possible that 9/11 was almost 25 years ago now.

I would get one and give it to my Cousin - she worked in the south tower but managed to get out. She has now contracted ALS, but not sure if it is connected to the dust kicked up on hat day.

Since S.1289 was referred to the Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, no action has been taken.
