Quite common and affordable. One of the easier overstruck coins to find.

Found yesterday another great example in a lot I bought per kilogram.. In the hand even better, I think 90% of the donor coin is visible..

That's a fantastic example, Sander!
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Incredible example! Can you see the reeded edge from the host coin on that one?
I have one that shows about as much as your first example, at least half the reeds are visible.

Huh. I have one of these coins, but to my shame, I don't think I've ever examined it closely enough to make out traces of a previous striking.

I have one that shows about as much as your first example, at least half the reeds are visible. From this one, it's a bit weak.. But found another one in the same lot.. (now taking an acetone batch) has almost the same visible of the donor coin, but has around 80% full reeds, and the other 20% somewhat weaker.. Will post that later this week..

Is not that good as the previous one.. But this one has a readable date.. 1894, not good visible on the photo.. Blue arrow points to the "4".. But the reeds are very good on this one..
