Quote:I think the Mint should just start making Silver Rounds and put all the gimicky stuff (glow in the Dark, holograms, 3d privy marks etc.) on them and leave the ASE in the classic design. They already have their foot in the door with collaborations with DC Comics & 8th Era. Silver medals, not rounds, and that is a good idea.

Quote:. . .but I wonder if the Philly mint will produce a non congrats ASE as I do not buy the congratulations coin set. But if it is the only way, then I'll be 'forced' to buy one. just like the mint did back in 2017 If the mint decides to replace the San Francisco proof ASE with a Philly proof with a privy mark and dual date, that would make the Congrats Set privy worthwhile, especially with a low product limit / mintage. I'm assuming the West Point Uncirculated ASE will continue. . .the ecommerce site shows a subscription available for next year, the artwork hasn't been updated.

Quote:So that's three ASE's for next year we know of: 1. Bullion ( No news I've seen re: Dual Date or not ) 2. Single Date 2026 - P Proof in the Congrats Set - No privy mark 3. Dual Date 1776 - 2026 - W Proof with 250 privy mark Update: 1. Bullion - Single Date, No PM ( Seeing Pre-Orders at the Bullion Sellers' Sites ) 2. Single Date 2026 - P Proof in the Congrats Set - No privy mark ( Jan 20, 2026) 3. Dual Date 1776 - 2026 - W Proof with 250 privy mark ( Jan 20, 2026 )

That's true, but the bright side is the Congrats set OGP changed, so it won't be a storage challenge, can either be stored with the other proof clamshells, it added to an album very easily. The old folders are a pain, and not in a normal capsule. The other option, the old Limited Edition set, was better in that the ASE was encapsulated starting in 2017, but then you had the extra silver.

I don't know why the 2026 ASE congrats coin from Philadelphia is called a set, there is only the one coin in it. Still a sleeper low mintage issue being a must for ASE collectors.

I thought the mint stated the image was a mistake and there would be a W dual Date ASE in the Congrates Set?

Quote:I thought the mint stated the image was a mistake and there would be a W dual Date ASE in the Congrats Set? It did. And a few days after I received that 11/7/25 email from the USM, the story changed. On 11/14, the mint's e-commerce site showed a single-date "P" mint mark ASE. HOL of 1 was also imposed as the mintage limit is 60,000. The author of that email was either lying or mis-informed. As for the Dual-dated W Proof with 250 PM --scheduled for sale on 1/20/26-- USM web site is showing HOL of "None" with no product or mintage limits. . .priced at $95 each.

Has anyone confirmed that the first person was wrong ir is everyone just assuming that?
It would be very iteresting to see what would happen if the first person wasn't wrong and the mint's page is still just messed up

It's fairly evident that the Mint representative gave out wrong information. In my opinion, they were giving information on the 2025 Congrats set, not realizing there is a change. You can go to the Mint website even today and get confused over it. The 2026 info definitely shows and describes a Philly mint marked ASE. As to whether it could actually be dual date and privy marked? I'm really doubting it, but could be. Either way it's a limited P mint marked ASE.
