I adjusted your images a bit to see if I could make out some details on the coin. Here's what I was able to get by reducing the brightness and contrast, slightly increasing the exposure and warmth, and adjusting the shadows up a bit.   The "notch" on the reverse isn't on the coin. It's where I removed the background image to get a better look at just the coin. I still can't see the full fields, but I see one fairly hard hit on the cheek by the edge of another coin and quite a few smaller contact marks. The reverse may have a diagonal scratch on the eagle's breast. The fields aren't clear enough to have a good feel for what is there. Just from what I can see, the coin looks closer to MS-63,but better photos would definitely help. One thought with the photos. In sometimes helps to take a picture during the day, using indirect or diffused light from a window, with no artificial lighting. If that's possible, I may be able to see more of the surface conditions. This looks like a nice coin.

the photos are just to hazy to see the coin. keep trying. you can try this to see if it helps if you are using a phone
1. turn off flash 2. place coin on flat surface with indirect natural light. Use a black or white background to avoid any reflective color 3. place a couple books on either side of the coin enough to move the phone about 3in from the coin. You may need to lay the phone sideways and adjust the photo orientation after. 4. set a 30 second timer. 5. place the phone across the books. This way, you are not holding the phone 6. zoom in using your fingers until the coin comes into focus and fills the cameras view finder

Much better photos! It's a nice coin. I agree with numismatic student, it's MS-63.
The GSA coins are worth more in the GSA holders than if they are removed.

hard to tell but looks like enough cheek marks to hold it to MS63. a nice CC that will only increase in value of the years. a slabbed 85(CC) in that grade is a $1000 coin so probably worth grading. if your are not inclined to do that I would definitely put her in an airtite to protect her.

Thank you everybody for your replies. The coin is in its GSA plastic holder boxed in a black box with a 'letter' signed by former President Nixon. It would be great to have it graded, but I live in Italy and NGC grading here is kinda complicated.

No need to have it graded. Just make sure, it stays in that holder and box, with the COA Worth more like that IMHO
