based on the photos you presented XF details (cleaned) all of the original skin appears to have been removed.

I wondered about the surfaces as well, but thought it might be a photo/camera settings issue.
Are these seller pics, or your in hand pics?

Moose you want to post the best photos you can get that are representation of what the coin actually looks like in hand. photos are tough to grade from as it is and if these are not what the coin looks like, you are not going to get an accurate assessment which I assume is what you want. for a 100 year circulated coin she just too clean. maybe use a different lighting. no overhead light. dont mess with the photo afterwards. use a dark background.
if you decide to repost the photos. we will take another look at it

Not original surfaces. A TPG would sticker this as EF details.

There are many hairlines on both sides of the coin.

Unfortunately lots of hairlines. Possibly chemically cleaned leaving behind bits of grime or toning. If you have return privileges, I'd send it back unless you got it dirt cheap.

sorry moose your in hand photos show a harshly cleaned coin it is a weal reverse strike so taking that into consideration it could receive an AU details(cleaned). the higher devices are sharper than you would see in an XF coin at straight XF45 it would retail for about $200-250 raw at AU50 around $300--325. so your $83 wasnt a bad price so long as you can live with the cleaning, Quote: I do not disagree with it being cleaned when you see a large amount of hairline scratches parallel to each other like this, it wasnt caused by circulation. the indicator is that there is soil or anything hiding in the devices. what I think happened with her was that she was over dipped to clean it up removing all the original skin, then the whizzed or attempted to polish the coin to shine it up and fool unsuspecting buyers.
