Resistant, pugnacious infections are not pleasant to deal with. Good luck!

Sorry just became aware of your troubles today. Not enough hours in a day anymore to be here as desired. Praying for your recovery. A hard thing to go through for sure. Remember we are behind you.

Brief update. I'm home and typing with one finger on my left hand. There is a nerve block on my right arm so the arm is just a dead weight.
The surgeon said the infection went deep into the elbow joint, bad enough that he needed to redo his repair from a month ago
He says he cleaned it all out. He also implanted antibiotic pearls in my elbow before he closed it up.
Bad news is that I'm starting all over again. Even worse is my right elbow needs to remain fully immobilized for 1 month.
I'm able to read posts just fine, but until I can use my right hand fingers typing is a chore. I'll check in as I can
Take a look at my other hobby ... http://www.jk-dk.art

Good call Mike - time for an update. I'm ~2 months post the 2nd surgery and have regained about 85% of my original right arm mobility and strength with significant PT and home exercises. So, my general everyday life activities using my arm are good again. I'm even doing light work in my woodworking shop. The bad news is that the infection destroyed the surgeons original ligament repair - an unfortunate fact that I did not grasp in my drug addled April reply above. So, my right elbow is essentially back to the damaged state it was prior to the first surgery. I need to decide if I'm up for a 3rd surgery to replace the damage or just accept this and move on. For me - life is good. My arm limitations are not in the way of enjoying a great wife and loving family, solid home and fabulous community of friends.
