Agreed and why I also was disappointed with the 2009 designs. They could have, at least, made a normal Memorial penny as well. What they REALLY should have done is make a 2009 VDB and 2009 SVDB as well. But Daniel Carr corrected that mistake making overstikes.

I am in with the group.

It is its own separate series with 20 coins to complete it.

Beginning in 2010 they are now called the Lincoln sheild cent. A design which I personal find appealing, a classic nod to the mid/late 1800's designs.

I am glad I am not the only one who likes the shield cent.

I do like it as well. Just... Not enough to go crazy with them and start up a separate set personally.

The Dansco 8104 album for Shield cents seems kind of silly now given the fact that they aren't going to be making anymore Lincoln cents after 2026, right?
Or are they going to keep making them in mint/proof sets for collectors?
Another reason I haven't personally started a full set of Shield cents. I just have a few misc circulated strikes.

I agree, memorial series ended in 2008. Might be an unpopular opinion, but I really enjoyed the 2009 releases.

Just wish the Memorial penny received a proper send-off.

The coolest part is there are exactly 20 coins which fit perfectly into a Cowens page!

in their own, separate category, similarly to the Crossing the Delaware quarter

Pity the poor Tuskegee Airmen Quarter, always neglected, LOL. It has holes at the end of my National Parks ATB album, and the Crossing Quarter starts out my American Women album. Neither really belongs in either, but there they are.

Yes. They are in the 2026 sets at least.
